Boston Instruments FBG temperature-compensated strain sensor (FBG-TSS) is based on packaged two FBG elements that are targeted for civil and infrastructural applications. To meet wide temperature and strain industrial environmental application demands, a packaged FBG-TSS can be customized for temperature-compensated strain measurement, where the sensor package requires two FBGs with first FBG measuring temperature only, and the other one for measuring both strain & temperature. A pre-calibrated transfer function will be provided for strain value calculation. The packaged FBG-TSS can be used for measuring static and dynamic strain for different industrial environments. To assist field sensor installation these strain sensors could be mounted by adhesive bonding, welding, or clamping. Meanwhile, the fiber cable will be selected to fit to specific application requirement.

Boston Instruments FBG based accelerometer sensor (FBG-ALS) is based on dynamic strain signal process that is designed for civil and infrastructural applications. A FBG accelerometer sensor is used to converted motion as a mechanical deformation into wavelength shift. The response amplitude within a unite time is associated with structural motion velocity, while velocity variation within a unit time corresponds to object acceleration. The packaged FBG-accelerometer sensor can be used for measuring structural acceleration variations in different industrial environments with a bandwidth of 1-50Hz. To meet wide industrial environmental installation,the FBG-ALS could be mounted by screwed bolts, welding, clamping, or adhesive bonding methods.

To meet wide temperature industrial environmental application demands, a FBG-TTS can be customized for temperature-compensated inclination measurement, where the sensor package requires two FBGs with first FBG measuring temperature only, and the other one for measuring both inclination & temperature. A pre-calibrated transfer function will be provided for inclination value calculation. The packaged FBG-tilt sensor can be used for measuring structural inclination variations with an angle of +/-5 degrees. This sensor can be used for bridge, wire pole and high building structural health monitoring. For other applications, a customized package will be provided based on customer's request.

Boston Instruments FBG temperature-compensated weight pressure load sensor (FBG-TPLS) is based on FBG strain response to weight pressure induced load that is designed for civil and infrastructural applications. To meet wide temperature environmental application, a packaged FBG-TPLS can be customized for temperature-compensated weight pressure induced load measurement, where the sensor package requires two FBGs with first FBG measuring temperature only, and the other one for measuring both static pressure-induced strain & temperature. A pre-calibrated transfer function will be provided for load value calculation. The packaged FBG-TPLS sensor can be used for measuring static pressure load variations in different civil and industrial applications. It can be embedded in the dam, embankment, building, slope tunnel, bridge and roadbed for structural health monitoring. Boston Instruments FBG temperature-compensated displacement sensor (FBG-TDLS) is based on FBG strain response to mechanical variation that is designed for civil and infrastructural applications. A FBG can be packaged for displacement measurement by converting axial displacement as a mechanical deformation that leads to fiber strain response. The strain response amplitude variation with respect to axial displacement can be converted into FBG wavelength shift. The packaged FBG-displacement sensor has two FBGs for temperature compensation. To meet wide temperature environmental application, a customized package can be designed for measuring structural displacement condition from a specific industrial application upon customer's request.
